A Glimpse of the Throne Room

In Isaiah 6, we get a glimpse of the throne room of God! King Uzziah had died and Isaiah entered the temple and he saw a very different king. He saw the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords on his throne high and lifted up and the train of his robe filled the temple.

The train of a gown or robe is that portion that hangs down in the back and sweeps across the floor. It signifies majesty and honor.

During Isaiah’s time, the king’s royal robe consisted of patches of the royal garments of kings that had fallen in defeat. The conquering king incorporated these pieces of cloth into his own robe as a symbol of the conqueror’s strength and power. Isaiah looked at the train on God’s robe and there were so many conquests until His robe “filled the temple” symbolizing that all of his enemies had been conquered.

No matter what happens in our world or who is ruling each nation, no matter if we are in a pandemic or war –Jesus is still on his throne. He is the King of kings and Lord of Lords. He sits on the throne of the universe and while other rulers live and die, He is alive forevermore and has defeated every enemy!
