Be Still: Trusting God in the Midst of Life’s Battles

Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Psalm 46:1 says that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. Strength does not require God plus something or someone else. God alone is to be our refuge and strength. He is with us!

So often, we try to face battles on our own. We fret and scheme, trying to obtain a certain outcome rather than quietly releasing our situation to God, trusting him to take care of it while we remain still. When we are still, that is when we can truly reflect and know that God is with us. And when we know God is with us, we experience his peace. In the midst of our trials, we can rest in knowing that the God of Israel and heavenly hosts has it all under control.

Now today, determine that you will be still, release it to God, and put your trust in him.
