Finding Rest in God: Trusting Him in the Waiting

Are you in a season of waiting and wondering? In Psalm 62:1, the Psalmist is declaring his trust in God in the middle of what must be a waiting season because just a few verses later, in verse 3, he cries out in his distress, “how long?” We can assume this isn’t something new but rather a place he has found himself in for a while.
The stress of waiting can be crushing, and we can wonder if God will ever answer our prayers or come through in the way we hope. But I love how the Psalmist follows the pattern we see so often in the Psalms, which is a complaint, a petition, and then a declaration.
This declaration in Psalm 62:1 is a reminder that no matter what we are going through, we can wait with patience and we can trust Him with confidence. We don’t need to move ahead of God. We can take our stress to Him, and we will find rest in Him.
