Jesus said the first and greatest commandment is to love God with all of our heart, soul and mind. This includes all of our thoughts and feelings. Is there something or someone who competes with God for your love?
If we put the things of this world before God, we will regret it when we see God face to face. Everything we put before God from this world ends at the grave. We can’t take our money, success, clothes, house, degree, or anything else from this world with us into eternity. God wants us to enjoy life! But he does not want us to turn the enjoyable and good things in our lives into little gods that we give all of our time, attention and love to, instead of him.
Let’s be determined to keep first things first—the Lord God himself.
