Seeking the Kingdom First

Jesus said to seek his kingdom and his righteousness first. This means that he is to be our first priority in life. He should be on our minds first thing in the morning, as we seek his will every single day.
But so many days our energy, time and money are spent first on the things of this world and God gets our leftovers. If we have any energy left, then we serve him. If we have any time left, then we seek him and if we have any money left, then we give it to him.
Jesus promises that when we seek him first, he will take care of us but oftentimes what God may think is best for us, may not be exactly what we had in mind. Many times, his timing is slower than ours.
And so, seeking God first and trusting God to provide can be hard, especially when we face trials. God does not promise us an easy life. Many believers around the world have been persecuted and died for their faith.
And so, no matter how hard life gets sometimes, we must keep seeking God and his kingdom first. Always remember that we are promised an eternity in heaven with him, where there will be no more pain and no more tears.
