The Powerful God of the Beginning

It is no secret that the Bible testifies over and over to the power and majesty of God. But did you know that the names used for God throughout the Bible have all different meanings to speak of who he is?
Starting here at the very beginning of the Bible, we see the name Elohim used for God. Elohim is the first name for God used in the Bible, and it speaks to his majesty and strength. In fact, Elohim is used more than two thousand times throughout the Bible and thirty-two times here in Genesis 1 alone.
I love that the Bible starts with a reminder for us of how powerful our God is. He is sovereign over our lives, and there is nothing we face that is too hard for him. Whatever you are facing today, you are not alone. He is our powerful King over all of creation, and that includes every detail of your life today. You can trust our Creator, friend.
