Through the Waters

In Isaiah 43, the Lord promises his people that when they go through troubles and trials, he is with them. He knows them by name, and they are his, and so he commands them to not be afraid.

When I went through the darkest season of my life, I printed out these verses and put them beside my bed and I read them over and over until I fell asleep. Many nights that paper was covered with tears until I finally drifted off to sleep. I can testify that God’s word is true! I was scared and overwhelmed . . . but God! He brought me through the deep waters and set my feet on dry ground.

Is something making you fearful today? God knows you by name. You are his. Isn’t that comforting? He does not want us living in fear. I know that the trials before you may feel big and scary. It might even feel like you are drowning at times, but God says, he is with you. You can trust him. He will protect you, hold you and care for you. Turn to him with all of your fears and never forget you are precious in his eyes and loved.
