The Power of Hidden Prayers

Jesus said when we pray, we are not to pray with the goal of being seen and praised by others. God is not impressed when we pray eloquent prayers in public. This does not mean we should not pray in public but rather when we do pray in public, we must watch the motivation of our heart.
Jesus said it is the hidden prayers of his people that he rewards. Do you have a place where you get alone to pray? Maybe you have a chair in your family room, or you prefer your kitchen table? Perhaps it’s inside your car or a bench at the park. In my college dorm, I would go to the stairwell or shower stall to get alone to pray and when my kids were little, I used the bathroom!
It is not as much about the place as it is about the prayer. There is power in our hidden prayers to the Lord. So, pick a place and set a time. Then, show up and meet with the Lord through the wonderful communication tool of prayer!
